We are seeking a Deputy Chief Scientific Officer with experience in pharmaceutical industry clinical research to work with the leadership team to shape product vision, contribute to science-based sales and marketing efforts, and support scientific validation activities. As Deputy CSO, you will manage the development of technological innovation in life sciences research and clinical operations.

Key Duties and Job Responsibilities:

Work closely with leadership, scientific and product teams to develop and market a smartphone-based data collection platform for pharmaceutical and life sciences research.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the Chief Scientist and commercial team to identify new high value features for the product roadmap
  • Representing the science team and providing expert input at bid defenses and client meetings
  • Providing scientific support for project proposals
  • Overseeing the development of white papers and opinion pieces for placement in industry publications
  • Developing material and participating in other external communications opportunities such as webinars and podcasts
  • Representing the company at conferences and industry panels
  • Working with project management staff to ensure customized product builds meet scientific requirements
  • Supporting the user experience / design team by providing insight about the researcher’s perspective.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (MD, Ph.D., or PharmD preferred) in life sciences or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical research.
  • Excellent, clear written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail

 

Preferred:

  • 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry sponsored clinical research
  • Experience in digital or mobile health
  • Experience or familiarity with health economics outcomes research (HEOR)
  • Experience with data management and analysis in clinical research
  • Previous experience running research projects in the biomedical sciences

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience or familiarity with health economics outcomes research (HEOR)
