Datacubed Health Appoints Industry Veteran as New CEO; Company Launches Latest Addition to its Data Collection/eCOA Platform

Brett Kleger to Assume Position of CEO at Datacubed Health; Datacubed Health Launches New Virtual Visit Module.

Brooklyn, N.Y.: Brett Kleger, former Chief Commercial Officer at DrugDev (an IQVIA company) and Vice President of IQVIA Technologies, has been named Chief Executive Officer of Datacubed Health, the company’s Board of Directors announced today. Dr. Paul Glimcher, Datacubed Health’s Founder and current CEO will shift to the roles of Chairman of the Board and Chief Scientific Officer.

As Datacubed Health’s new CEO, Brett Kleger brings over 20 years’ experience as a life sciences industry executive and a proven track record of growing early-stage tech companies into market leaders. As DrugDev’s Chief Commercial Officer, he took a company from its infancy to become the market leader in site-facing technologies to support clinical operations. He consistently increased sales, revenue, and EBITDA, which led to a high-value acquisition via IQVIA in 2017. Following the acquisition, he spearheaded the clinical technology growth across IQVIA Technologies.

Previously, Kleger led Acurian’s products and services groups from its infancy through exponential growth, eventually leading to its acquisition by PPD. He also founded IMS Health’s first division focused on optimizing clinical trials. In recognition of his career achievements in “Tackling the Impediments to Clinical Trials”, Kleger was named to the PharmaVoice 100 in 2018.

“The Board and I have spent the last few months looking for a leader who can manage our current radical growth rate, and even accelerate it,” says Glimcher. “In Brett Kleger, we found the perfect person. Brett’s deep experience in our industry, his technical expertise, and his proven track record deeply impressed our Board. We are all excited to see Datacubed continue to mature under Brett’s stewardship.”

“Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed great success driving early-stage life sciences technology companies to help patients, sites, and other stakeholders to improve clinical operations and, ultimately, patient lives,” says Kleger. “The key is to find the right combination of technologists, industry experts, and management teams with a common goal to improve our industry. The need to change has never been more prevalent than in today’s climate. In Datacubed Health, I found the perfect combination of exceptional technology, brilliant scientists, and an impassioned team. I’m honored to join the cause and look forward to working with our clients and partners to make a difference.”

In addition, the company announced the launch of Linkt Virtual Visit, the latest module to its patient engagement/eCOA solution, intended to further support remote patient data capture and decentralized trials.

Linkt Virtual Visit is a telemedicine module that enables pharmaceutical companies, clinical research organizations (CROs) and other healthcare providers to conduct remote or hybrid clinical trials. It allows clinicians to complete clinical outcomes assessments while meeting with participants remotely and is accessed through Datacubed Health’s patient and clinician apps via user’s smartphones or on-site tablets.

“At a moment in history when digital solutions and virtual trials are gaining traction, and maybe even market dominance, it’s important to be able to support virtual COA within a seamless endto-end integration,” says Glimcher. Datacubed Health’s Virtual Visit brings the same ease-of-use and high-compliance found in our other behaviorally-driven tools to video integration. We are enormously proud of the high quality and deep integration that we’ve accomplished with Virtual Visit.”

Travel inconvenience is the number one reason potential participants decline to join a clinical trial. Furthermore, long site visits or wait times, scheduling conflicts, and travel burdens are major factors contributing to the high attrition rate that plague most trials. The addition of telemedicine capabilities makes recruitment easier and improves compliance rates—resulting in better data and major cost savings for sponsors.
